Popcorn!! and Lauren

We got an old fashioned popcorn popper for our wedding and we took it out this week for Lauren to watch it. I had one of these growing up and always thought it was so fun. Lauren agreed. She jumped and squeled during the entire popcorn making experience. Some things are better "old fashioned".

FINDING HAPPINESS

During this difficult weekend my mom, sister, cousin Ben and I took some time out to take Lauren to the Old South Gaylord street festival. I knew there would be a petting zoo there and thought Lauren would enjoy seeing the animals. It was a refreshing to have a few moments to escape the sadness around us. It doesn't take much more than the smile of a little girl to help you know the world will be okay again. Lauren loved the petting zoo. An odd assortment of animals; a llama (which Lauren insists was a giraffe), a huge turtle, baby goats, an enormous rabbit, a kangaroo, ducks and a camel. Lauren fed carrots to most of the animals. She did get to go on a few rides before we left, and laughed the whole time.
