No pictures today, just thoughts. As summer comes to a close, I can smile. This has been a good summer. We had a few really fun trips. Mostly close to home, but we got away and spent time as a family. Something we never have enough time to do. Our time in Oklahoma and Kansas was so relaxing and we were able to do so many great things with Lauren.
It was a summer of firsts for her; she experienced her first
Putt-putt golf game (of course she won)
Riding a pony
Camping
Jet Skiing
Feeding Birds
She also got to meet a lot of family that we hadn't had the chance to meet before, I love that she has had the chance to meet the people who have shaped her heritage
Monday we are off to meet with the fourth eye surgeon. Keeping our fingers crossed that we can finally get everything coordinated and get her surgery(s) scheduled. Wish us luck.

Camping: 101
This weekend we had our first family camping trip (and at the age of 31, my first experience camping too!) I can't believe what I've been missing out on all these years.
We went some friends that had a wave runner which was great entertainment for Jeff and Lauren. Despite my fear of water I actually took a few rides as well. We spent Saturday at the lake and Lauren and our friends daughter Makayla played in the mud while we set up for the day.
We just relaxed, splashed around in the water and took rides on the wave runner.
As evening neared we packed up and moved to our actual campsite. It was a beautiful area.
Even Sophie enjoyed the nice view.
After dinner, we got a good fire going and of course made smores.
After an amzingly good night of sleep we had breakfast at the campsite, then packed up to head back to the lake.
